The quote in Greek is the first few lines of Homer's "The Iliad." I'll give the translation for more lines than I wrote in Greek:

"The wrath sing goddess, of Peleus' son, Achilles, that destructive wrath which brought countless woes upon the Achaeans and sent forth to Hades many valiant souls of heroes, and made them themselves spoils for dogs and every bird…"

The translation is from "The Perseus Project."

The (other) poetry quoted is the first line or so of "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock," by T.S. Eliot.
